EV Conversion Specialist / Automotive Technician (Casual)
Location: Moriac, VIC
Employment Type: Casual / Flexible hours

Electric Dream Machine is a specialist EV conversion workshop focused on high-quality electric drivetrain conversions for classic and unique vehicles. Our builds range from early Volkswagens and classic American cars through to specialty and custom projects.

Due to increasing workload, we are seeking an EV-focused Automotive Technician to assist with ongoing conversion builds in our Moriac workshop.

‍About the Role
‍You’ll be working hands-on with EV conversion projects, assisting with electrical, mechanical, and integration tasks depending on your skillset. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, custom work, and being involved in unique builds rather than repetitive production-line tasks.

‍Ideal Skills & Background
‍We are open to candidates with some or all of the following experience:

- Automotive electrical experience (12V and/or high-voltage EV systems)
- Qualified or experienced motor mechanic
- EV conversion, hybrid, or EV repair experience (highly regarded)
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and follow build documentation
- Fabrication or mechanical fitting experience (advantageous)
- Strong attention to detail and a safety-first mindset

- Interest in EVs, automotive engineering, or classic vehicles
- Happy with casual / flexible work, with potential for ongoing involvement as projects grow
